Parts and consumables:

  • Cloth gloves
  • Funnel
  • Rags
  • Coolant "Toyota Super Long Life Coolant" - 08889-80072
Antifreeze "Toyota Super Long Life Coolant" - 08889-80072

Notes:

Monitor the coolant level at all times. Its sharp decrease or increase should be a signal for an immediate check of the engine cooling system.

To avoid technical problems, be sure to use Toyota Super Long Life Coolant or an equivalent high quality ethylene glycol-type silicate, amine, nitrite and borate-free long life hybrid organic acid technology. (Long Life Hybrid Organic Acid Coolant is a combination of low phosphate organic acids).

Do not mix liquids of different colors and brands. If you need to top up coolant, but you do not know the brand of fluid filled into the system, replace all fluid in the cooling system.

Only use products from trusted manufacturers. Remember that using poor quality Toyota Yaris 2 coolant results in costly engine repairs.

Do not leave open containers with coolant as it is toxic.

Check the coolant level on a cold engine only.

1. Place the vehicle on a level, horizontal surface before starting work. Open the hood  and lock it in the raised position. The coolant expansion tank is located in the center of the front of the engine compartment in the direction of travel.

2. Visually check the coolant level. It should be between the "MAX" and "MIN" marks on the wall of the expansion tank. If the liquid level is at the "MIN" mark or lower, then add coolant.

3. Open the cap of the expansion tank to add coolant.

Warning:

Do not open the expansion tank cap when the engine is hot: the system is under pressure.

4. Add Toyota Yaris 2 antifreeze to the MAX mark.

Warning:

It is recommended to use a funnel for easy filling of coolant.

Do not pour liquid into the tank above the upper MAX mark, as its volume will increase when the engine is running.

5. Close the expansion tank cap tightly: coolant may leak from under a loosely closed cap. Clean up spilled coolant with a clean cloth.

Notes:

A few days later, measure the level of antifreeze again, and at the same time check its color: high-quality coolant Toyota Yaris 2 only darkens over time, retaining the main color. If it suddenly turns brown or discolored, it means that you have come across a fake product that needs to be urgently replaced before it has time to corrode the cooling system!

If the coolant level in the expansion tank is constantly decreasing, then there is most likely a leak in the cooling system. In this case, it is necessary to check the tightness of the cooling system and eliminate the malfunction.
