Parts and consumables:
- Engine oil
- Rags
- Funnel
Note:
It is necessary to warm up the engine to operating temperature and turn it off at least 5 minutes before checking (this is necessary for the oil to flow into the crankcase).
Checking the level and adding oil to the engine Chevrolet Cruze
1. Park the vehicle on a level, level surface.
2. Open the hood.
Note:
The bonnet release lever is located on the left side under the dashboard.
3. Remove the dipstick from the engine crankcase.
4. Wipe the dipstick with a clean rag and immerse it completely back into the crankcase.
5. Then carefully remove the dipstick. The oil film level on it must be between the "MIN" and "MAX" marks.
6. If the level falls below the minimum mark or approaches it, it is necessary to add oil. To do this, open the oil filler cap.
7. Pour oil into the engine in small portions. After each portion of oil, wait 3-4 minutes for it to drain into the crankcase, then check the oil level with a dipstick. Repeat topping up oil if necessary.
8. Remove any drips and replace the oil filler cap.
A warning:
For topping up, use only the type of oil that is currently used in the engine lubrication system.
