Oil in automatic transmission Hyundai Santa Fe (04500-00400 - capacity 4 l; 04500-00100 - capacity 1 l)

Note:
The fluid level in the automatic transmission must be checked at least 15,000 km.
Fill the automatic transmission with HYUNDAI GENUINE ATF SP-III, DIAMOND ATF SP-III, SK ATF SP-III, or other brands approved by Hyundai Motors.
The indicator (dipstick) of the working fluid level in an automatic transmission (automatic transmission) is located in the front of the engine compartment on the left, between the battery and the cylinder head.

1. To check the working fluid level in an automatic transmission (automatic transmission), start the engine and warm it up to operating temperature. The liquid temperature should be 70-80 ° C. To speed up the warm-up time, you can drive the car for a short drive.
Note:
Typically, in an ambient temperature of 20 ° C, a 10-minute ride in quiet driving mode is sufficient.
2. Park the vehicle on a level, level surface. Apply the parking brake. With the engine idling, depress the brake pedal and move the selector lever from " P " to " D ". Keep the brake pedal depressed, let the car run for 1-2 minutes. in position " D ", then move the gear selector lever sequentially into each of the modes of operation and stay in each mode for 3-4 seconds. Move the lever to the " P " or " N " position . The engine must be running during the test.

Warning:
The ingress of even a small amount of mechanical impurities into the box's working fluid is unacceptable. Therefore, before removing the oil level indicator (dipstick), carefully wipe the surface around it from dirt.
3. Remove the pointer (dipstick), wipe it with a rag and reinstall it.

4. Remove the dipstick again. The Santa Fe oil level should be between the notch marks, which correspond to the minimum and maximum levels on the "75 ° C" scale on the dipstick.

Note:
If the level check is forcibly carried out in a cold gearbox, use the "25 ° C" scale on the dipstick. The range between marks in the form of notches corresponding to the minimum and maximum on the scale "25 ° C" is of a recommendation nature and should not be used to accurately determine the level of the automatic transmission fluid. As soon as possible, repeat the check in accordance with the recommendations in paragraph 1 of this article.

5. If the fluid level is near or below the lower 75 ° C scale, add fluid. To do this, insert a funnel into the dipstick guide and fill with oil.

6. After adding fluid, be sure to check its level again, as described in paragraph 3-4 of this article. Do not exceed the maximum permissible level, as this can lead to failure of the gearbox.
Note:
Draining and changing the oil in the Santa Fe automatic transmission is described in this article .
