Troubleshooting Hyundai Creta. general information
The engine management system is equipped with a self-diagnosis mode. During operation, the electronic control unit (ECU) monitors the health of all circuits and elements of the control system. When a malfunction is detected, the ECU puts the engine management system into standby mode and turns on the corresponding malfunction indicator lamp on the instrument panel. The codes of the detected faults are stored in the memory of the electronic engine control unit. At the same time, the message “Check injection” will be displayed on the instrument panel and the control lamp for the need for maintenance will be on.
To read fault codes in the Hyundai system, there is a diagnostic connector of the OBD II standard. It is located on the lower left side of the instrument panel.

Through the diagnostic connector, you can read fault codes not only for the engine management system, but also for other systems, such as transmission, ABS, steering.
The work can be carried out both at the service station and independently, if there is special equipment. There are adapters (devices) with which you can connect a laptop to the connector. Also, a special program is needed to read the errors.

There are also adapters that transmit information via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi wireless protocols. From such adapters, information can be received on tablets and smartphones for which special programs have been written.
Self-diagnosis of engine malfunctions Hyundai Creta
1. Park the vehicle on a level, level surface.

2. Make sure that the battery is charged (voltage at its terminals is at least 12V). If necessary, charge the battery.
3. Turn on the ignition. The corresponding control lamps on the instrument panel should light up. This is a sign that the diagnostic system is working.

4. Start the engine. If its control system is working properly, after a few seconds the control lamps will go out.

5. To connect the diagnostic tool to the Hyundai Creta, turn off the ignition.
6. Open and remove the cover of the fuse box in the passenger compartment.

7. Connect the scanner to the Hyundai Kreta diagnostic socket.

Note:
When performing diagnostics, adhere to the requirements set forth in the instructions for the device.
8. Turn on the ignition and check for fault codes in the ECU memory. If an error is found in one of the elements, visually check the condition of the contacts in the wiring block and the reliability of the connection. If oxides are found, treat the contacts with an electrical contact protection and cleaner.
9. If contacts of a block and wires are serviceable, and after removal of a code of malfunction the control lamp burns again, replace a faulty element.
10. At the end of the work, turn off the ignition and disconnect the diagnostic tool. Replace the panel cover.
Note:
Not all scanner models have the ability to erase fault codes from the computer's memory. Next will be described how to do it yourself.
