Notes:
Suspension of the Citroen Berlingo must be carried out on a flat platform, a flyover or a viewing ditch, but in no case on a lift. Otherwise, the suspension will be loaded, and you will not be able to determine the malfunction of the ball joints.
1. Visually inspect the front suspension parts. Front suspension parts should not contain deformations, cracks and other mechanical damage that affect the shape and strength of the parts.
2. Check up integrity of anther of a spherical support of the bottom lever.
3. Check up integrity of anther of the SHRUS of a power shaft. SHRUS Citroen Berlingo will quickly become clogged with dirt if the torn boot is not replaced in time. Then it will be necessary to replace the CV joint with anther assembly.
4. Check up integrity of anther of the hinge of steering draft. Replace torn anthers.
5. Check for play in the hinge of the lower arm of the front suspension.
Note:
If play is detected, replace the rubber-metal hinges (silent blocks). Remember! A belated replacement destroys the contact points of the hinges, and this is fraught with a complete replacement of the elements of the front suspension arm.
6. Use a spatula to check for play in the tie rod joint.
7. Check up the bottom and top fastenings of a rack of the stabilizer of cross-section stability. The luffing strut needs to be replaced.
8. Check up elastic elements of fastening of the stabilizer of cross stability to a subframe.
9. Check up on existence of cracks in a protective casing of the steering mechanism.
Note:
If the protective covers are damaged, replace them immediately.
10. Check the fastening of the rear engine mount (axle bracket) to the subframe.
11. Visually inspect the rear suspension parts. Front suspension parts should not contain deformations, cracks and other mechanical damage that affect the shape and strength of the parts.
12. Using a mounting spatula, check the wear of the silent block in the rear axle beam connection. If play is detected, replace the rubber-metal hinges (silent blocks) with a set (one on each side).
13. Check the integrity of the brake hose and, nearby, the braid of the ABS sensor wire. Damaged hose and wire must be replaced.
14. Check the integrity of the rear suspension buffer.
Notes:
If damage is found, the rear suspension buffer must be replaced.
15. Check the upper mounting of the rear shock absorber and the wear of the rubber-metal hinge of the rear shock absorber trunnion.
Note:
If noticeable play is felt, replace the rear shock absorber pivots.
16. Inspect the springs for damage and the rear shock absorbers for leaks. Replace cracked spring and leaky shock absorber.
17. Check the integrity of the rubber suspension of the main muffler of the exhaust system. A gimbal with cracked rubber or a torn strap must be replaced.
