In the instrument cluster (Fig. 1.8) the following instruments and signaling devices are installed.

1 - the speedometer shows how fast the car is currently moving. The scale has divisions from 0 to 220 km / h, the division price is 5 km / h.

2 - the control lamp for turning on the left direction indicator lights up with a flashing light when the left direction indicator is turned on (synchronously with it). The blinking of the control lamp with a double frequency indicates a lamp burnout in any direction indicator.

3 - the control lamp for switching on the main beam of the headlights lights up when the high beam in the headlights is turned on.

4 - the control lamp for turning on the side lights lights up when the side lights are turned on in the headlights and rear lights.

5 - the control lamp for turning on the fog lights (if any) lights up when the fog lights are turned on.

6 - the control lamp for turning on the rear fog lamp lights up when the light in the rear fog lamp is turned on.

7 - warning light for the driver's seat belt not fastened. Lights up red when the ignition is switched on, if the driver's seat belt is not fastened.

8 - signal lamp for a malfunction of the anti-lock braking system (ABS). Illuminates for a few seconds when the ignition is on. Immediately after starting the engine, the lamp should go out. If a system malfunction occurs, the lamp either does not turn on when the engine is started or does not turn off after the engine is started.

Simultaneous burning of the signal lamp 8 for a malfunction of the anti-lock braking system (ABS) and the signal lamp 10 for the state of the brake system means a failure of the brake force distribution system and, as a result, a loss of vehicle directional stability and controllability.

9 - the signal lamp of the battery discharge lights up when the ignition is turned on. Immediately after starting the engine, the lamp should go out. The burning of the lamp or its glow half-heartedly with the engine running indicates a lack of charging current caused by a malfunction of the generator or voltage regulator, weak tension (or breakage) of the generator drive belt.

Note

It is forbidden to drive a car with a burning lamp, since, in addition to a complete discharge of the battery, this may indicate a short circuit in the charge circuit, which can lead to a fire.

10 - the signal lamp of the state of the brake system lights up when the ignition is on in the event of an excessive decrease in the level of brake fluid in the reservoir of the brake master cylinder or when the parking brake lever is raised.

Warning

The movement of the car with a burning signal lamp for the state of the brake system is prohibited.

11 - signal lamp for enabling cruise control signals the inclusion of the cruise control function (it is installed in the vehicle version).

12 - the airbag warning light comes on when the ignition is turned on and goes out after the engine starts.

13 - information display (see "Information display", p. 20).

14 - signal lamp of insufficient air pressure in tires.

15 - the signal lamp of the engine management system lights up when the ignition is turned on and lights up when the engine is started. Immediately after starting the engine, the lamp should go out. If the lamp comes on when the engine is running, it indicates a malfunction in the engine management system. The control unit switches to the backup program, which allows you to continue driving. When the lamp lights up, it is necessary to check the engine management system at the service and eliminate the malfunction.

Warning

Prolonged operation of the car with a burning lamp is not recommended, as it can lead to an increase in fuel consumption, a deterioration in the traction characteristics of the car and engine breakdowns.

16 - the control lamp for turning on the right direction indicator lights up with a flashing light when the right direction indicator is turned on (synchronously with it). The blinking of the control lamp with a double frequency indicates a lamp burnout in any direction indicator.

17 - the tachometer shows the engine speed. The scale has divisions from 0 to 8, the division price is 0.25. In order to find out the crankshaft speed in min'1, you need to multiply the tachometer readings by 1000. The red zone is a mode that is dangerous for the engine.
The prevention
Do not allow exceeding of the maximum resolved turns of a cranked shaft of the engine (a threshold - 6500 mines ').
