The 1.6 Duratec Ti-VCT engine management system mainly differs from the 1.4 and 1.6 Duratec engine management system by the presence of two knock sensors located on the front wall of the cylinder block in the area of 1-2 and 3-4 cylinders, as well as a mass sensor intake air flow (instead of an absolute pressure and intake air temperature sensor) located on the air filter cover. The actuators controlled by the ECU (along with those listed in the 1.4 and 1.6 Duratec engine management system) also include solenoid valves for the variable valve timing system. The coolant temperature sensor is screwed into the threaded hole in the cylinder head outlet pipe.
