Note:
The following describes how to open the hood of the Audi A6.
The hood opening handle is located in the passenger compartment on the driver's side.
1. Pull the handle and open the driver's door.

2. Pull the hood release handle towards you.
3. At the front center of the vehicle, push up on the hood latch and open the hood.

Note:
The open hood of the Audi A6 C6 is held in the upper position by two hood shock absorbers.
Warning:
Never open the hood if you see steam or coolant escaping from the engine compartment - risk of burns! Wait until steam and/or coolant stops escaping.
