Headlight Beam Adjustment
1. Park the vehicle on level ground and press the front and rear bumpers several times.
2. Position the vehicle at a distance of 3 meters from the wall on which the adjustment screen is located. Before adjusting the headlight beam, check the tire pressure. All tires must have the same air pressure rating.
3. Make sure the vehicle is unladen (nothing but spare tire, jack, tools, full engine coolant, engine oil and fuel).
4. Wash the headlight lenses and turn on the low beam headlights.
5. Open the hood.
6. On the adjustment screen, draw a horizontal line and vertical lines (passing through the center of each headlight).
7. Then draw a line parallel to and 30mm below the horizontal line.
8. Using a Phillips screwdriver, adjust the dipped beam illumination boundary line within the horizontal parallel lines.
9. Using a Phillips screwdriver, adjust the dipped beam illumination boundary line within the vertical parallel lines.
Adjusting the beam of light after replacing the headlight assembly
10. Adjust the beam of headlights so that the own axis of the beam of light is parallel to the center line of the car body and coincides with the point "P" shown in the figure below. If the headlight assembly was replaced during the front end bodywork of the vehicle, the headlight beam adjustment should be checked using a screen as shown in the figure below. Set the headlight switch to the low beam position.
The dotted lines in the figure indicate the centers of the headlights.
"W" - distance from the horizontal center line of the headlights to the ground: 656 mm.
"L" - the distance between the centers of the headlights: 1164 mm.
Distance between the headlights and the screen being tested: 3 m (3000 mm) .
