Checking and replacing the fuel level sensor Ford Focus 2

Note:

You will need an autotester to test the sensor.

The fuel gauge sensor is mounted on the fuel module.

1. Disconnect a wire from the minus plug of the storage battery.

2. Remove the fuel module.

3. Disconnect the two sensor wires from the block in the fuel module cover.

Note:

To facilitate subsequent installation, write down the location and colors of the detachable wires.

4. Wring out a clamp and remove the gauge from the fuel module.

5. To check the Ford Focus 2 fuel gauge sensor, connect the tester in ohmmeter mode to the sensor terminals.

6. Measure the resistance of the sensor with the float lever in the lower position. The resistance should be 200-206 ohms.

7. Raise the lever with the float to its extreme position - the resistance should drop to 7.7-9.3 ohms. If the resistance of the sensor does not fall within the given range of values, the sensor is defective and must be replaced.

8. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
