Note:
The density of antifreeze on the Nissan X-Trail is recommended to be checked every 40 thousand kilometers and only on a cold engine.
Nissan X-Trail Coolant Density Check
1. Place the car on a level surface, and turn off the ignition. Wait until the engine has completely cooled down (about 2-3 hours).
2. Raise the hood cover and fix it with an emphasis.
3. Slowly turn counterclockwise and open the radiator filler cap.
Note:
When opening the cover on a hot engine, you can burn yourself with boiling liquid or steam!
4. Lower the hydrometer into the neck and, using a pear, draw enough liquid into the flask so that the float floats.
5. Determine the density of the Nissan X-Trail antifreeze on the float scale.
6. Based on the table, determine by the density of antifreeze its concentration and the minimum temperature at which it can be operated.
7. Close the radiator filler cap tightly. Wipe up spilled liquid with a rag.
Note:
Do not try to increase the concentration of ethylene glycol excessively. When it is increased above 60%, the freezing point of antifreeze will begin to increase, and at 100% ethylene glycol it will be 12.9ºС.
