Note:
Checking the condition of the rear suspension is carried out from below the car, which is installed on a flyover or inspection ditch.
Rubber parts must be replaced if:
- signs of aging rubber;
- mechanical damage.
Rubber-metal hinges are subject to replacement upon detection of:
- signs of aging;
- cracks;
- one-sided buckling of the rubber array.
In addition, you should check the absence of cracks and dents on other parts of the suspension.
1. We inspect the rubber bushings of the lower hinges of the shock absorbers.
2. We check the pillows of the upper hinges of the shock absorbers.
3. Shock absorbers are not allowed to drip liquid and "fogging".
4. We inspect the rubber-metal hinges (silent blocks) that fasten the rear suspension beam to the brackets on the body.
5. Additionally, it is worth checking the rear wheel bearings, springs and compression buffer.
Helpful advice:
Quite often, exhaust system knocks are mistaken for a malfunction in the rear suspension. Therefore, it is worth inspecting the suspension cushions of the exhaust system, the malfunction of which can lead to a knock (more details can be found here ).
