You will need: a 10 hex wrench, a syringe, a funnel, a wide container for draining the oil, a ruler or tape measure.
Note:
Periodically (but at least once every 15,000 km) check the oil level in the Nissan Qashqai manual transmission. And every 90,000 km or 6 years (whichever comes first), change the oil. However, sometimes the need to change the oil may arise earlier: for example, when switching to a different viscosity of oil, when repairing a gearbox, etc.
It is recommended to drain the oil within 15 minutes after the trip, until it has cooled down and has good fluidity.
Fill the manual transmission with API GL4/GL5 oil; SAE 75W-90. If the car is operated at an ambient temperature below -10 ° C, we recommend using oil of API GL4 / GL5 quality class; SAE 80W-90.
Checking the level, topping up and changing the manual transmission oil Nissan Qashqai
1. Remove the air filter housing (see Removing and installing the air filter housing).
2. Clean the plug of the control (filler) hole located on top of the gearbox housing from dirt.
3. Loosen the plug.
4. Turn out and take a stopper from an aperture in a case of a transmission.
5. Insert the dipstick into the control (filler) hole. Mark the position of the dipstick from the top edge of the gearbox.
USEFUL ADVICE:
To measure the oil level in a 6-speed manual gearbox, we recommend using the engine oil level indicator (dipstick). Before measuring the oil level in the gearbox, carefully wipe the pointer (dipstick).
6. Measure the level from the top edge of the oil film to the marked position of the top edge of the gearbox on the dipstick.
The oil level must be:
- for a car with front-wheel drive - 43.0–48.0 mm;
- for a car with all-wheel drive - 85.0–90.0 mm.
7. If the oil level is very low, install a funnel in the control (filler) hole and fill in oil to the desired level. Close the plug and remove any oil spills.
NOTE:
The plug of the control (filling) hole is sealed with an aluminum washer. When installing the plug, replace the washer.
8. To change the oil in the gearbox, remove the engine crankcase protection (see Removing and installing engine mudguards).
9. Clean the drain plug from dirt.
10. Loosen the drain plug.
11. Remove the plug and drain the oil into a prepared container.
12. The drain plug is sealed with an aluminum washer. Be sure to replace it.
13. Screw in the drain plug, tighten to 35 Nm.
14. Fill the gearbox with oil to the required level (see steps 2–7).
15. Screw in the plug of the control (filler) hole, tighten with a torque of 35 Nm and remove oil smudges.
16. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
