Checking the level and topping up the working fluid in the power steering reservoir in a Ford Focus 2 car

You will need: power steering fluid, clean rag.

Note

Add Ford Power Steering Fluid recommended by the manufacturer to the power steering reservoir .

The tank is mounted on a bracket in the front of the engine compartment on the right.

The tank body is marked "MAX" and "MIN". When the engine is cold, the fluid level should be between these marks.

Note

Check the power steering fluid level with the engine off.

1. Remove the tank cap...

2. ... and add the required amount of working fluid.

3. Close the stopper and wipe off any drips.

Depending on the vehicle configuration, an electric power steering pump can be installed, made in one piece with the reservoir.

The reservoir with the electric power steering pump is installed under the right wing of the car in the front.

The tank body is marked "MAX" and "MIN". When the engine is cold, the fluid level should be between these marks.

1. To check the fluid level, remove the right wheel liner.

2. Remove the tank cap...

3. ...and remove it.

4. Add the required amount of working fluid.
