Checking the level and topping up the power steering fluid BMW X5 F15

Notes:

The vehicle must be parked on a level, level surface. 

The test is carried out on a car with an idle engine.

1. Open the front door on the driver's side.

2. On the left under the dashboard is the hood release lever.

3. Pull the lever towards you until you hear the hood latch open.

4.  Raise the hood.

5.  The power steering reservoir is located on the right side of the engine compartment in the middle (see picture below).

6. Turn off the cap of the power steering fluid reservoir counterclockwise. Below it is a dipstick to measure its level.

7. Wipe the dipstick with a clean cloth and replace the plug. After that, unscrew it again and look at the liquid spot on the dipstick - it should not be lower than the minimum mark.

8. If the level is below the required level, add the required amount of working fluid. Then check the level again.

9. Remove all drips with a rag and wrap the plug in place.
