Note:

The manufacturer recommends checking the oil level in the gearbox every 15 thousand kilometers, and changing the oil  after 60 thousand kilometers.

You can also try the 75W90 Gl4 / GL5 universal oil, but it's still better to use the original. In addition, it has a viscosity that other oils do not have.

1. Place the vehicle on a pit or lift.

2. If this is not possible, use a jack with racks.

Warning:

Never  work under a vehicle that is only supported by a jack. The jack may slip or fail, resulting in serious injury or death.

3. Get under the car and inspect its bottom. Unscrew the mounting bolts and remove the mudguard of the engine compartment.

5. To check the oil level, use a 17 mm wrench to unscrew the fill plug.

Note:

Be careful, transmission oil may leak. 

6. Check the condition of the liquid and make sure that there is enough of it. The oil level should be at the edge of the filler hole or be slightly lower (you can reach the surface of the oil with your finger or a screwdriver).

7. If necessary, add oil to the Honda Civic manual transmission using an oil syringe.

8. If the fluid is contaminated, it will need to be replaced.

The plug is equipped with a magnetic insert for trapping and holding the products of grinding and natural wear of the steel elements of the 
gearbox. If a large amount of metal particles has adhered to the insert, contact a specialized  service center for advice.

4. Clean the Honda Civic manual transmission drain and fill plugs from dirt and metal particles.

5. Replace the plug gaskets with new ones.

6. Install a new sealing ring on the gearbox drain plug and  tighten.

7. Using a syringe with a hose, pour oil into the Honda Civic manual transmission filler hole to the required level.

8.  Install a new sealing ring on the filler plug and tighten.
