Tools:

  • Hex key 10 mm
  • Hex Key 14mm
  • Syringe
  • Container with a capacity of at least 3 liters

Parts and consumables:

  • Gear Oil  75W-80

Note:

Use API GL-4 oil with a viscosity of SAE 75W-80 into a manual gearbox. The oil volume in the manual transmission is 3 liters.

According to the manufacturer's recommendation, the oil level in the gearbox must be checked every 20 thousand kilometers. Under severe driving conditions, the oil must be changed every 80,000 km or 4 years (whichever comes first).

Checking the oil level in a manual transmission on a Nissan Almera Classic

1. To check the oil level, unscrew the gearbox filler plug located on the gearbox housing cover in front in the direction of the vehicle. The oil level should be at the edge of the filler hole or slightly lower (you can reach the surface of the oil with your finger).

2. If the oil level is very low (cannot be controlled with a finger), add oil with a syringe to the edge of the filler hole.

3.  Drain the oil into a prepared container.

Note:

It is recommended to drain the oil within 15 minutes after the trip, until it has cooled down and has good fluidity.

4. Replace the drain plug.

Note:

The conical filler and drain plugs do not have sealing washers.

5. Fill the gearbox with clean oil. The work performed in this case is similar to the operations described above for checking the level and topping up the oil.
