Removing the Nissan X-Trail Battery

1. Place the car on a level surface, and turn off the ignition.

2. Raise the hood and secure it with the stop. The battery on the Nissan X-Trail is installed on the left side of the engine compartment.

3. Using a 10 mm wrench, loosen the wire lug tie bolt nut.

4. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the Nissan X-Trail battery.

5. Lift the battery positive terminal cover.

6. Using a 10 mm wrench, loosen the wire lug tie bolt nut.

7. Disconnect the tip from the plus terminal of the Nissan X-Trail battery.

8.  With a 10 mm wrench, unscrew the 2 nuts securing the clamping bar.

9. Remove the battery clamping plate along with the studs.

10. Remove the Nissan X-Trail battery from the vehicle.

11. If necessary, replace the battery with a new one.

12. Install the battery on the Nissan X-Trail in the reverse order of removal. Connect the terminals observing the polarity (positive first).

Note:

If you install the old battery, wipe its surface with a rag, clean the terminals and the inner surfaces of the wire terminals from oxides. Treat the battery terminals with a special cleaner.

13. After connecting the wires to the terminals, apply a light coat of grease to the wire lugs and exposed terminal surfaces.

The battery terminals must be the same size. Type - European (T1). The diameter of the positive terminal is 19.5 mm, the negative terminal is 17.9 mm, and the height is 18 mm. Polarity is straight only.
