Removing the Hyundai Creta battery

Note:

The car battery is removed for charging, replacement, or to gain access to the engine compartment for other repairs.

Batteries are available in several types. They differ in overall dimensions, location and polarity of the conclusions. Pay attention to this if you are replacing the battery, as well as its mounting method on the car. Then when buying a new one, you will not go wrong with the choice.

The average battery life is 4 to 5 years.

Removing the Hyundai Creta battery

1.  Place the car on a level surface, and turn off the ignition. Raise the hood and secure it with the stop.

2. Use a 10mm wrench to loosen the negative terminal nut.

3. Remove the terminal and move it aside.

4. Open the protective cover on the positive battery terminal.

5. Use a 10 mm wrench to loosen the positive terminal.

6. Remove and set the terminal aside.

7.   The Hyundai battery is on the shelf and is screwed to it with a pressure plate. Using a 10 mm socket   with an extension, unscrew the mounting bolt and remove the pressure plate.

8. Pull the Hyundai Crete battery out of the engine compartment.

9. If necessary, replace the battery with a new one.

10. Clean the terminals and internal surfaces of the wire terminals from oxides. Treat the battery terminals with a special cleaner.

11. Install the battery in reverse order.

12. First connect the wire terminal to the positive and then to the negative terminal of the battery. 

Warning:

Reversed polarity when connecting the battery will damage the vehicle's electronic equipment.

13. Apply Vaseline or protective varnish to the wire lugs and exposed terminal surfaces.

Hyundai Creta battery characteristics with Gamma 1.6 and NU 2.0 engines

The standard battery for the  1.6 engine  has dimensions  230x175x220 , which corresponds to the size  D23 , reverse polarity and bottom mount type  B01 . The battery model is CMF60L-BCI.

For  2.0L engines.  a battery with a larger capacity in a different size is installed. The battery model is  CMF68L-BCI with a capacity of 68 Ah.

The size is called D26, the body is 26L. Dimensions  260x175x220.
Cold scroll current - 600 A. Reserve capacity - 113 minutes.
