Removing the knock sensor Renault Duster

We remove the knock sensor for replacement, as well as when repairing the engine.
Remove the fuel rail cover.

On 2.0 engine

Pulling it towards you, we remove the holder of the generator wiring harness from the hole in the engine bracket.

By pressing the latch of the block of the wiring harness of the engine management system, we disconnect the block from the sensor connector.

With a “10” head, unscrew the sensor mounting nut ...

... and remove the knock sensor from the cylinder block studs.

Knock sensor.

Before installing the sensor, we clean its installation site on the cylinder block.
Install the knock sensor in reverse order.

On the engine 1.6

Remove the fuel rail with injectors.
Remove the oil level gauge from the guide tube.

With the “8” head, we unscrew the bolt securing the guide tube of the oil level indicator ...

... and remove the guide tube from the hole in the cylinder block.

By pressing the wire clamp of the block of the wiring harness of the engine management system, we disconnect the block from the sensor connector.
With a tubular wrench or a high “24” head, we turn the sensor out of the hole in the cylinder block.

Knock sensor

Before installing the sensor, we clean its installation site on the cylinder block.
Install the knock sensor in reverse order.
Before installing the guide tube of the oil level indicator, check the condition of its rubber sealing ring.
If the ring is damaged or loses the elastic properties of rubber, we replace the ring.
