Removing and installing the Hyundai Matrix trunk lid

Tools:

• Phillips screwdriver
• Open-end (or box) key

Withdrawal

1. Disconnect the rear window heating element wire connector.

2. Remove facing of a door of a back.

3. Remove an additional stoplight.

4. Remove the top trim from the rear door frame.

5. Turn off four self-tapping screws and remove the panel of furnish of a door of a back.

6. Remove the lateral decorative panel of furnish of a door of a back.

7. Turn off four nuts and remove a decorative slip of a door of a back.

8. Unscrew four screws and remove lanterns of illumination of license plate.

9. After removing the mounting nuts (2EA), disconnect the rod and remove the center console of the tailgate.

10. Remove the lock cylinder by unscrewing the mounting bolt and remove the rear window cleaner.

11. Disconnect the rear window wiper motor power connector.

12. Remove the rear window wiper motor after removing the mounting nut.

13. Remove actuators of levers of a back door, disconnect sockets and remove levers.

14. Remove the tailgate retainer.

15. Remove the rear door lifter from the ball joint.

16. Remove the tailgate after removing the rear door hinge mounting bolts.

Installation

17. Installation is made in an order, the return to removal.
