- Head 14 mm
- socket extension
- Screwdriver flat medium
- Knife (if needed)
- Hammer big
Parts and consumables:
- rags
- Fuel module (if required) (31110-2B000 for 2.7L engine, 31110-2B900 for 2.2L engine)
- Fuel module pressure ring (if required) (31152-2D000)
Note:
If engine power drops, increased noise occurs, or howling is heard periodically when the fuel pump is running, then most likely the fuel pump is out of order. Pre-check the pressure in the fuel supply system, as described in this article . If the pressure in the system is less than 3.6 kgf / cm², then it is necessary to replace the Santa Fe fuel pump, since the design of the pump is collapsible and its elements (the electric pump itself, filters, fuel pressure regulators) are not separately supplied as spare parts.
This article shows how a fuel module is replaced on a Hyundai Santa Fe car.
1. Reduce the pressure in the supply system as described in this article .
2. Disconnect the negative terminal wire from the battery.
3. Remove covers of bolts of fastening of back seats.
4. Turn off fastening of back seats.
5. Fold the back of the seat and unscrew the two fastening bolts at the back (the bolts are unscrewed in the photo).
6. Remove the seat from the passenger compartment. Remove the second seat in the same way.

7. Fold back the cut-out part of the rug.
8. Use a flathead screwdriver to pry off the fuel module access cover.
Note:
If there is dirt on the body of the fuel module, then it is better to remove it so that it does not get into the fuel tank.
9. Wring out a clamp and disconnect a block of wires from the fuel module.
10. Use a screwdriver to press the blue tabs and disconnect the hoses from the fittings on the fuel module.
Note:
The fuel receiver hose is located on top, and the pressure pipe hose is located on the side.
11. Place a screwdriver on the clamp ring at an angle and hit the screwdriver with a hammer to unscrew the fuel module clamp ring.
12. Carefully remove the module from the fuel tank so as not to break off the float (Santa Fe fuel sensor).

13. Install all removed parts in the reverse order of removal.
