Removing and installing the passenger airbag Skoda Octavia

The front passenger airbag is removed if it malfunctions when replacing the Skoda Octavia instrument panel.
You will need: 10mm TORX wrenches, flat blade screwdriver.
1. Disconnect a wire from the minus plug of the storage battery.
WARNINGS
Attempting to remove the airbag by disconnecting the battery may cause the airbag to deploy unexpectedly.
It is possible to proceed with the following operations to remove the airbag only after the activator capacitor is completely discharged. To discharge the capacitor, you must wait at least ten seconds after disconnecting the wire from the "minus" terminal of the battery. Do not disassemble the airbag.
Do not drop the airbag or allow water, grease or oil to come into contact with it.
The airbag removed from the vehicle must be stored on a flat horizontal surface with the module facing up. The airbag must not be exposed to temperatures above 95°C.


2. Remove the glove box.


3. Disconnect the airbag harness connector.


4. Through the opening in the instrument panel, unscrew the two screws securing the airbag brackets to the instrument panel frame and remove the airbag assembly with the brackets.
5. Turn away four nuts of fastening of a pillow of safety of the forward passenger to arms and remove the module.


6. Install the front passenger airbag and all removed parts in the reverse order of removal.
