Notes:
The air filter on the Ford Focus 2 is removed to gain access to other units in the engine compartment and if it is damaged. The operation of the fuel system, the adjustment of the system and the quality of the refueling fuel depend on the condition of the filters.
Removal and installation of the air filter of the car Ford Focus 2
1. Open the hood. The air filter housing is on the right side. Loosen the 4 air duct mounting bolts.
2. Unfasten the clamps of the main air intake pipe 1 and its rubber seals with screw connections 2 .
3. Loosen the clamp securing the air supply sleeve to the Ford Focus 2 air filter and disconnect the sleeve from the filter nozzle.
4. Loosen and disconnect the clamp that secures the air supply sleeve to the nozzle of the throttle assembly and remove the sleeve.
Note:
We recommend removing the air supply sleeve for convenience. However, this is not necessary when removing the air filter.
5. Using a screwdriver, lift the mass air flow sensor harness block retainer and disconnect the block from the sensor (only on the 1.6 L R4 16V Duratec Ti-VCT engine with variable valve timing).
6. Remove the cover and filter element of the Ford Focus air filter 2. Remove the air filter housing mounting bolt (only on vehicles with 1.8 l and 2.0 l R4 Duratec-HE 16V engines).
7. Disconnect the hose of the crankcase ventilation system 1 of the engine from the fitting on the filter housing by squeezing the hose clamps.
8. Remove the air filter housing.
9. Install the air filter on the Ford Focus 2 in the reverse order of removal.
