We remove the air conditioning compressor for repair or replacement, as well as when dismantling the engine.
The work is shown on the engine 1.6 (8V).
Remove the accessory drive belt.
We remove the protection of the power unit.
The system must be discharged before disconnecting the air conditioning piping. When the system is discharged, it is necessary to release the refrigerant through the valves of the low 1 and high 2 pressure pipelines, closed with caps.
To release the refrigerant, use a suitable tool to press on the valve stems.
If it is necessary to replace the valve with a key similar to the metal cap of the wheel valve, we unscrew the valve from the pipeline fitting.
It is better to discharge the air conditioning system at a service station that has special equipment. The equipment is necessary to comply with safety measures and to determine the amount of oil that came out with the refrigerant.
With a “10” head, we unscrew the two bolts ...
... and disconnect the high and low pressure pipes from the compressor cover.
To prevent dirt and moisture from entering the system, we close the openings of the tubes with plugs. Refrigerant charging and discharging valve
We disconnect the tip of the wire 1 from the outlet of the electromagnetic clutch of the compressor and with the “10” head we unscrew the bolt 2 of the fastening of the high-pressure hose bracket.
The difference in removing the air conditioning compressor on a car with a 1.6 (16V) engine is in a slightly different location of the output of the electromagnetic clutch.
With the “13” head, we unscrew the four compressor mounting bolts (for clarity, shown on the removed engine) ...
... and remove the compressor.
Before installing the compressor, we replace the sealing rubber rings of the tube tips with new ones.
Install the air conditioning compressor in reverse order.
We fill the system with refrigerant at the service station and check the operation of the air conditioner at the maximum fan speed of the heater.
