Removing the passenger airbag Honda Civic
1. Raise the bonnet and secure it with a metal stop.
2. Using a 10 mm socket, disconnect the wire from the "negative" battery terminal.
Note:
Removing the Honda Civic airbag module without disconnecting the power supply may cause the airbag to deploy unexpectedly.
3. Wait at least 60 seconds. until the activator capacitor is completely discharged.
4. Open the glove compartment.
5. Press out the side restraints and lower the glove compartment down.
6. Depress the latch and disconnect the front passenger airbag block.
7. Using a 10 mm head, unscrew the 3 nuts securing the front passenger airbag Honda Civic.
8. Pry with a plastic spatula and remove the instrument panel trim from the clips.
9. Pull up and remove the instrument panel upper right trim assembly with front passenger airbag.
10. Press out the plastic case, disconnect the 6 rear and 6 front holders.
11. Remove the front passenger airbag Honda Civic. Replace it with a new one if necessary.
Note:
Disassembling the airbag module is prohibited .
Do not drop the airbag module and do not spill water, grease or oil on it.
Do not expose the airbag module to temperatures above 95 C.
12. Install the front passenger airbag in the reverse order of removal.
13. Install the glove compartment in the reverse order of removal.
14. After installing the airbag in place, for the first time turning on the ignition, stay outside the vehicle. Switch on the ignition by reaching under the steering column.
