The air intake is removed when it is damaged, as well as to get access to other parts and assemblies in the engine compartment.

1. Place the car on a level surface, and turn off the ignition.

2. Raise the hood cover and fix it with an emphasis.

3. Use a flathead screwdriver to pry the retainers of the 3 air duct holders on the Nissan X-Trail.

4. Remove the plug with two holders, and pull out the 3rd retainer.

5. Disengage the lower air duct from the lower receiver air duct, and disengage the rear duct from the air filter housing.

6. Pull the air duct up and towards you.

7. Remove air duct on Nissan X-Trail.

8. Inspect the condition of the duct. If necessary, replace it with a new one.

9. Install the air duct on the Nissan X-Trail in the reverse order of removal.
