Set the piston of the 1st cylinder to the TDC of the compression stroke.
Rice. 2.235. Alignment of the alignment marks on the crankshaft sprocket and the oil pump housing
Temporarily install the crankshaft pulley bolt and, turning the crankshaft, align the alignment marks on the crankshaft toothed pulley and the oil pump housing (see Fig. 2.235).
Rice. 2.236. Checking the coincidence of the marks on the toothed pulleys of the camshafts with the marks on the cover No. 3 of the timing belt
Using a special tool, turn the camshafts, aligning the alignment marks on the toothed pulleys of the shafts and cover No. 3 of the timing belt (see Fig. 2.236).
Install the timing belt.
Rice. 2.239. The sequence of installing the timing belt on the elements of the mechanism
Remove, if any, any liquid from the toothed pulleys and rollers. When installing a reusable belt, make sure the arrow points in the direction the belt rotates. Align the timing marks on the belt and crankshaft pulley. Align the alignment marks on the belt and camshaft pulleys. Install the timing belt, putting it on the elements in the specified sequence, as shown in Figure 2.239:
1 – a gear pulley of a cranked shaft;
2 – a pulley of the pump of a cooling liquid;
3 – a pulley of a forward camshaft;
4 - intermediate pulley;
5 - rear camshaft pulley;
6 - roller tensioner.
Install the timing belt tensioner.
Rice. 2.240. Hexagonal key fixing the stem
Move the tensioner rod so as to align the holes on the rod and the tensioner body (force 980–9800 N). Lock the stem with a 1.27mm hex wrench. Install the boot on the tensioner. Alternately tighten the two bolts securing the tensioner to a torque of 27 Nm. Take out a hex key fixing a rod (fig. 2.240).
Check valve timing. Turn the crankshaft one turn until the alignment marks on the crankshaft pulley and the oil pump housing are aligned (see. Fig. 2.235). Check if the alignment marks on the camshaft pulleys and timing belt cover No. 3 are aligned. If this does not happen, reinstall the belt (see Fig. 2.236). Loosen the crankshaft pulley bolt.
Install the right engine mount, securing it with a tightening torque of 28 N.m.
Install timing belt cover #2. Check if the belt cover gasket has not cracked or delaminated. Replace gasket if necessary.
Install the timing belt cover No. 2 and tighten the five bolts with a tightening torque of 8 Nm. Install the wiring guard on the #3 timing belt cover.
Rice. 2.241. Installing the timing belt guide
Install the timing belt guide with the protruding part outward (Fig. 2.241).
Install the timing belt cover No. 1 and tighten the four bolts with a tightening torque of 8 Nm.
Rice. 2.233. Removing the timing pulley: 1 - special tools
Install the crankshaft pulley, aligning the key on the crankshaft with the keyway on the pulley, install the pulley and, using a special tool, tighten the pulley mounting bolt with a tightening torque of 216 Nm (see. Fig. 2.233).
Install the #2 alternator bracket and install the hinge bolt and nut without tightening them.
