Note:
This article describes how to replace the Audi A6 cabin filter with and without removing the glove box.
The air intake filters are located behind the glove compartment under the instrument panel on the passenger side.

Replacing cabin filters with glove box removal
1. Remove the glove compartment (ware box) as described in this article .
2. Bend back the tab and remove the cover from the cabin filter box.

3. Remove the two cabin filters.

Note:
The second (top) filter is located in the box above the first and it does not fall when you pull out the first (bottom).
4. Install new filters in the box.
Note:
Arrows are marked on the cabin filter of the Audi A6 where the filter should look. Filters must be installed so that these arrows look into the cabin.

5. Install all removed parts in the reverse order of removal.
Replacing cabin filters without removing the glove box
1. Move the passenger seat as far back as possible.
2. Pry and remove the lower plastic glove box cover.
3. Replace the filter through the opened hole as described above.
4. Install all removed parts in the reverse order of removal.
