You will need: keys “11”, “17”, a screwdriver with a flat blade, a socket head “13”, a container for the drained liquid, a medical syringe.

Replacing the clutch master cylinder Ford Focus 3

1. Remove the cap from the master cylinder reservoir.

2. Pump out the brake fluid from the reservoir section of the master cylinder, for example, with a large medical syringe.

3. Squeeze the hose tip retainer.

4. Disconnect a hose from a tank of the main brake cylinder.

5. Drain the remaining brake fluid into a prepared container.

6. Squeeze the retainer and disconnect the tip of the supply hose from the clutch master cylinder.

7. Squeeze the retainer and disconnect the tip of the pipeline tube from the Ford Focus 3 master cylinder.

8. Remove the clutch pedal assembly with bracket and master cylinder.

9. Use a screwdriver to press out 2 locks (the second lock is located on the opposite side of the pedal and is not visible in the photo) of the pusher fork of the master cylinder of the clutch release drive.

10. Rotate the cylinder counterclockwise approximately 60° until the lugs on its flange align with the cutouts in the pedal bracket hole.

11. Remove the master cylinder from the hole in the pedal bracket.
12. Examine a cover and a sealant of the cylinder. Replace severely compressed, hardened, or torn parts.

13. Install the clutch release master cylinder on the Ford Focus 3 in the reverse order of removal.
14. Remove air from the hydraulic clutch release.
