Note:

This article shows an oil change in a Santa Fe automatic transmission.

The manufacturer does not provide for the replacement of the working fluid in an automatic transmission (automatic transmission) during the entire service life. However, sometimes the need to replace the working fluid may arise, for example, when repairing a gearbox. It is recommended to replace it without fail even if the automatic transmission has been immersed in water while driving off-road.

A complete replacement of the working fluid can only be carried out using a special installation, therefore, for a complete replacement of the working fluid, contact a specialized service center. In garage conditions, in the absence of a special installation, only a partial replacement of the fluid can be carried out, this process is described below.

Fill the automatic transmission with HYUNDAI GENUINE ATF SP-III, DIAMOND ATF SP-III, SK ATF SP-III or other brands approved by Hyundai Motors.

1. Warm up the oil to an operating temperature of 70-80 °C (make a short trip in the city cycle).

2. Remove the engine crankcase protection as described in this article .
