Notes:

Changing your engine oil and oil filter frequently is the most important preventive maintenance you can do yourself. The oil in a Citroen Berlingo becomes thinner and dirtier as it ages, leading to premature engine wear.

This article describes the procedure for a Citroen Berlingo 1.4 liter KFW (TU3JP) petrol engine. All procedures for changing the oil and filter in versions with other engines will be similar.

1. Park the vehicle on a level, level surface. Using a 17mm socket wrench, remove the protective cover bolts under the front of the vehicle.

Notes:

Be careful! If the vehicle has recently been turned off, do not touch the exhaust system or other hot engine parts while working under the vehicle.

2. Remove the protective cover, gaining access to the plug of the engine oil pan.

3. Place a suitable container under the drain plug and remove the plug using a 24 mm socket wrench.

Notes:

After turning the plug all the way out, keep it pressed against the sump, and then sharply move it to the side so that the flow of oil from the sump goes into the container, and not into your sleeve.

4. Drain the oil, use a rag to clean the area around the drain hole, reinstall the drain plug and protective cap in reverse order.

Notes:

Gloves are recommended to avoid scalding, skin irritation, and protection against various harmful impurities contained in used engine oil.

5. Open the hood of the Citroen Berlingo. The filter element is attached to the cover of the filter housing, located in the front of the engine compartment, closer to the left side in the direction of the car.
