C-classes, starting from 2000 to 2004, have one problem. The stop of the door, or the door limiter - breaks!
You can’t see the breakage, but you can hear a crunch when you open it. Since the driver's door opens most often, it then fails first.
Repair is not difficult but required, otherwise the crunch starts to irritate more and more. Purchase a new door stop prior to replacement, catalog number: A 203 720 01 16.
New stroke limiter.
It is necessary to remove the interior, door trim. For convenience, unscrew the pin of the door lock. Do not be lazy - remove the terminals from the battery.
Unscrewed door lock finger.
Next, from the lower left corner, we begin to pry off the skin with any convenient plastic tool and go on all sides.
Press down the door trim from the bottom.
And the same at the top.
Press the door trim on top.
Unscrew the plastic cover on the door lock.
Lock pad.
When the trim moves away from the door body, carefully disconnect the airbag terminal so that it does not interfere.
Removed door trim with handle and electrics.
It is unnecessary to remove and unscrew the handles, you will not need the electronics on the door either. Let everything stay on it.
Hinge side door closer connection.
Closer connection outside the door.
Now, from the outside of the hinges, unscrew the bolts holding the limiter on both sides. Now it has been removed. We put a new one and twist it just as tightly.
We assemble the door trim in the same sequence.
