Notes:

On an Audi A6 car, replacing the fuel filter will take a maximum of 20 minutes of your time. The following describes the replacement of the Audi A6 fuel filter.

Before starting work, disconnect the wire from the "minus" terminal of the battery. Relieve pressure in the fuel system. To do this, in the fuse box, pull out the fuse that is responsible for the operation of the fuel pump. Connect the battery cable, start the car and wait until it stalls. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery again.

The fuel filter is located in the rear left side of the engine compartment.

1. Open the hood as described in this article .

2. Unscrew the lower fastening of the fuel filter housing.

3.  Remove the retaining ring from the valve on the fuel filter.

4. Pry with a flat screwdriver and remove the valve from the fuel filter.

Note:

Place a rag under the valve so that diesel fuel from the valve does not get on the parts in the engine compartment.

5. Turn off a collar of fastening of a fuel pipe.

6.  Remove the fuel tube from the fuel filter fitting (push the tube with a flathead screwdriver if necessary).

7. Use pliers to squeeze the clamp on the second fuel tube and pull the clamp down the tube.

8. Remove the second fuel tube from the fuel filter fitting.

9. While holding the fuel filter, unscrew the two upper fasteners of the fuel filter housing.

10. Remove the fuel filter from its housing in the engine compartment.

11. Drain the fuel from the old filter into an empty container.

12. Remove the three plugs from the new filter.

13. Install a new fuel filter, tighten the bolts and put on the two fuel hoses.

14. Use a syringe with a hose to fill the maximum fuel into the new filter through the valve hole.

Fuel can also be added before the fuel filter is installed. Choose the option that is convenient for you.

15. Install all removed parts in the reverse order of removal.

Note:

Start the car and let it run for a couple of minutes. You can also hold the gas for 5-7 seconds at 3000 rpm.
