Fuel pump replacement Nissan X-Trail 2007 - 2014
1. Remove the fuel module from the fuel tank and drain the fuel from it into a previously prepared container.

Removing the fuel module Nissan X-Trail
2. Use a screwdriver to press out 3 fixing clips of the module cup.
3. Disconnect the cup from the fuel module housing.
4. Pry off the fuel filter with a screwdriver.
5. Disconnect the filter from the Nissan X-Trail fuel pump.
6. Use a flathead screwdriver to release the 3 fuel pump cover clips.
7. Disconnect the fuel pump cover from the fuel module housing.
8. If you need to replace the pump on the Nissan X-Trail, disconnect the power connector.
9. Heat its hose with a building hair dryer and disconnect from the fuel pump fitting.
10. Remove the fuel pump from the module housing.
11. Replace the Nissan X-Trail fuel pump with a working one.
12. Install the fuel pump in the reverse order of removal.
13. Remove the O-ring and replace it with a new one.
14. If necessary, replace the fuel filter with a new one.
15. Install the fuel filter in the reverse order of removal.
16. Check the functionality of the cup valve. It should let fluid in and hold it in the fuel pump module cup.
17. Replace defective valve or bowl assembly.
18. Replace the module O-ring with a new one.
19. Install the module with the replaced Nissan X-Trail fuel pump back into the fuel tank in the reverse order of removal.
20. Make sure that the mark on the top of the fuel module matches the mark on the fuel tank. Tighten the clamping ring to a torque of 70 N•m.
21. Install the rear seats in the reverse order of removal.
22. Start the engine and check the fuel lines for leaks.
