Note:
Replace the rear brake pads only as a set (4 pieces, 2 for each side).
Replacing the rear pads on Kia Rio 3
1. Jack up the rear of the vehicle and place it on secure stands. Remove the wheel.
2. Before changing the pads on the Kia Rio, unscrew the brake fluid reservoir cap in the engine compartment and check its level. If the level is at or near the maximum mark, remove the excess with a syringe.
3. With a 14 mm wrench, unscrew the upper caliper bolt. You can keep it from turning with a 17 mm key .
4. Turn away the bottom bolt of a support.
5. Lift up a support and fix on a disk so that it did not load a brake hose.
6. Remove the old brake pads on the Kia Rio 3.
7. On the Kia Rio, the rear piston does not sink into the caliper, but twists. Take the special key. In my case, this is the key to the grinder.
8. Install it in the grooves of the piston and twist it clockwise. Be careful not to damage the boot. At the same time, keep an eye on the level of brake fluid in the tank.
9. The piston should go completely inside, exactly with the anther.
Note:
The grooves of the caliper piston in the twisted state should be vertical. This is important for the correct installation of the inner shoe.
10. Replace the Kia Rio 3 rear pads with new ones.
11. Reinstall the brake pads.
12. Reinstall the caliper.
13. Press the brake pedal a couple of times to remove the gaps in the brake mechanism. The pad should fit snugly against the rear caliper piston.

After installation
14. In the same way, replace the rear brake pads on the other side of the Kia Rio 3.
15. Check and, if necessary, add brake fluid to the reservoir.
