1. Open the hood of the Mercedes Vito as described in  this  article. The expansion tank of the Mercedes Vito is located in the center of the engine compartment between the engine and the radiator.

2. Open the cover of the expansion tank.

A warning:

Do not open the expansion tank cap if the engine has been warmed up to operating temperature or the temperature gauge shows coolant overheating, as this threatens to eject steam and hot liquid, which can lead to burns. Let the engine cool down to 50 ° C.

3. Check the fluid level by looking at the expansion tank filler neck. The cooling system is considered to be properly filled if the coolant level matches the mark on the filler neck. In the illustration, the number "1" indicates the filler neck.

4. If there is not enough coolant in the cooling system, add the required amount.

Note:

Add only fluids recommended by the manufacturer. Do not mix liquids of different specifications / colors. If the required coolant is not available, top up with distilled water as a temporary solution. In this case, it is necessary to take into account the decrease in the threshold freezing temperature of the system. Replace or add special coolant in the proportions given at the beginning of the article.
