Hyundai Creta emergency tailgate opening

Note:

The tailgate opens or closes when all doors are locked or unlocked with the key, remote key, smart key, or central door lock/unlock switch. If the tailgate is unlocked, it can be opened by pressing the handle and pulling it up.

With a disconnected or discharged battery, a jammed button, or other reasons, this can sometimes not be done. In this case, you can use  the emergency door opening lever.

1. Open any back door and go to the car interior.

2. Fold down the rear seat.

3. From the passenger compartment, reach for the tailgate. A special hole is made in the door skin. 

4. Insert a screwdriver blade or other suitable tool into the hole and move the Hyundai Creta trunk lock lever  in the direction of the arrow (to the right). This will open the lock.

Note:

Only use the release lever in an emergency and with extreme caution, especially while the vehicle is moving.

5. Raise the tailgate.
