Parts and consumables:

  • Rags
  • Brake fluid (type DOT-4)

Note:

The stock of the working (brake) fluid of the hydraulic drives of the brakes and clutch is located in the reservoir located on the master brake cylinder.
If there is no fluid leakage from the system, then its level in the reservoir decreases, mainly as a result of wear, linings, and wheel brake pads.

Brake fluid type - DOT-3 or DOT-4. We recommend that you check the brake fluid level before each ride and, if necessary, add fluid to the reservoir. When changing the brake fluid, remember or write down the brand of fluid filled into the system so that you can use the same brand of fluid when refilling.

Checking the level and adding brake fluid to the Hyundai Accent reservoir

1. Park the vehicle on a level, horizontal surface and lift the bonnet. The reservoir of the hydraulic brake system is installed on the brake master cylinder on the left side of the engine compartment near the bulkhead.

2. To add fluid to the reservoir, turn the reservoir cap counterclockwise and remove.

Note:

On the tank there are marks MIN and MAX, between which the level of the working fluid should be (the MIN mark is not visible, its location is shown by an arrow).

WARNING:

Contact with brake fluid on wires, plastic or painted body parts can damage them. Therefore, always use clean rags when pouring. If liquid spills on these parts, wipe them off immediately with a clean cloth.

If the level of the working fluid in the reservoir is constantly decreasing, then the system most likely has a leak. In this case, it is necessary to check the tightness of the hydraulic drives of the brake system and eliminate the malfunction.
