Note:
Disinfection cleaning of evaporators of automobile air conditioners must be carried out at least once a year.
A sign of pollution is a noticeable unpleasant smell in the cabin from the air ducts.
Before you clean the Nissan X-Trail air conditioner evaporator, you will first need to remove the cabin filter.
Removing the cabin filter on the Nissan X-Trail
1. Get under the steering wheel of the car. To the right of the gas pedal, pull towards you and remove the plastic casing from the latches.
2. Remove the cover.
This will open access to the Nissan X-Trail cabin filter cover.
3. Pry the cover latch from below with your hand or a flathead screwdriver.
4. Pull towards you and remove the cabin filter cover.
5. Remove the filter from the air conditioner housing.
Note:
Some drivers, before removing the cabin filter, also remove the gas pedal. To do this, unscrew the bolts with a socket head by 10 mm, disconnect the block and remove the pedal.
Cleaning the evaporator air conditioner Nissan X-Trail
1. Pull towards you and remove the plastic casing from the passenger side from the latches.
This will open access to the Nissan X-Trail drain pipe, which goes under the bottom of the car.
2. Remove the hose.
3. Attach the extension tube to the cleaner bottle.
4. Insert the tube into the air conditioner, pushing as far as it will go, and blow all the foam out of the can there.
Note:
Place a rag under the evaporator, as the foam may pour back into the passenger compartment.
5. Put the rubber hose back on the Nissan X-Trail evaporator. Wipe off all spills with a rag.
6. Replace the plastic cover.
7. Wait about 15-20 minutes for the underbody cleaner to finish dripping.
8. Close all windows. Turn on the maximum fan, temperature, recirculation mode from the passenger compartment.
9. Get out of the car and wait another 15-20 minutes. Then ventilate the interior.
10. If necessary, replace the cabin filter with a new one.
11. If possible, remove all debris from the filter housing and wipe the inside of it.
12. Install the cabin filter in the reverse order of removal, bending it slightly on both sides.
Note:
When installing, pay attention to the arrow indicating the direction of air flow.
