Parts and consumables:
- Coolant
- rags
- Funnel (if needed)
Notes:
The manufacturer recommends the use of ethylene glycol based coolant (antifreeze) for aluminum radiators. Check with your vehicle dealer for the brand of fluid used in your vehicle. Do not mix liquids of different colors and different manufacturers. If you do not know the brand of the filled fluid, and the fluid needs to be topped up, then the Skoda antifreeze in the cooling system needs to be replaced. Only use products from trusted manufacturers. Remember that the use of poor quality coolant leads to costly engine repairs.
The expansion tank is installed in the right rear of the engine compartment and is attached to the cup of the upper support of the Skoda shock absorber strut.

Warning:
Check the coolant level only on a cold engine. The coolant is toxic, so be careful when handling it.
1. Park the vehicle on a level surface and open the hood as described in this article .
2. Coolant level marks are applied to the expansion tank. The coolant must be between the MIN and MAX marks .

Note:
If the Skoda Fabia antifreeze level is low (the liquid is on the MIN mark or below it), then it is necessary to add liquid.
3. To top up the coolant, unscrew the tank cap counterclockwise and remove the cap.
4. Add coolant to the required level.
Note:
Do not fill fluid above the MAX mark , as the volume will increase when the engine is running.
5. After topping up the liquid, tightly close the cap of the coolant expansion tank and remove any drips of liquid.
Note:
The cap of the coolant reservoir of the Skoda Fabia must be screwed tightly. Coolant may leak from a loose plug.
Helpful Hints:
It is convenient to use a funnel to facilitate topping up the liquid. In the absence of a funnel for adding liquid, you can make a funnel from the neck of a plastic bottle.
Keep an eye on the coolant level at all times. Its sharp decrease or increase should be a signal for an immediate check of the engine cooling system.
If the newly poured antifreeze suddenly suddenly turned brown quickly, it means that you were sold a fake, in which they "forgot" to add corrosion inhibitors. Change the fluid as soon as possible before it eats away at the cooling system.
