Chery Tiggo Exhaust System Parts

Exhaust system components:

1 - diagnostic oxygen concentration sensor;

2 - control sensor for oxygen concentration;

3 - main catalytic converter of exhaust gases;

4 - exhaust manifold;

5 - exhaust manifold sealing gasket;

6 - thermal screen;

7 - cushions of units of the exhaust system;

8 - additional catalytic converter of exhaust gases;

9 - gasket of flanges of additional and main silencers;

10 - main muffler;

11 - additional muffler.

Exhaust gases are removed from the engine through an exhaust manifold -  4, catalytic converters 3 and 8 of exhaust gases, an additional muffler -  11 and a main muffler - 10.

Two oxygen concentration sensors are installed on the main catalytic converter: at the inlet of the catalytic converter - the control (main) oxygen concentration sensor - 2, and at the outlet - a diagnostic sensor -  1.

A metal-reinforced gasket - 5 is installed between the cylinder head and the exhaust manifold flange.

The intake pipe of the exhaust system is made in one piece with the main catalytic converter of the exhaust gases. The intake pipe at one end is connected to the exhaust manifold, and the other to the flange of the additional catalytic converter - 8, which, in turn, is connected to the additional silencer -  11, and the exhaust pipe of the additional silencer is connected to the intake pipe of the main silencer - 10.

All flange connections of the system are sealed with metal-reinforced gaskets.

Each of the elements of the system can be removed individually without dismantling other elements.

System elements are suspended from the body on seven rubber pads.

To protect the engine and the base of the body from heating by system elements, a steel thermal screen is installed above the exhaust manifold, and thermal screens are also installed above other elements of the exhaust system.

The exhaust system does not require any special maintenance. It is enough to periodically check the reliability of the tightening of threaded connections and the integrity of the suspension cushions. In case of damage to the system elements, through corrosion or burnout, they are replaced as an assembly, since the mufflers and the neutralizer, together with the pipes, are non-separable units.

Helpful advice:

Check the exhaust system periodically. If there is an increased noise level from the exhaust system, check its tightness. To do this, start the engine and inspect the entire system. If you run your hand over the areas of possible leakage without touching the components, you will immediately feel the gas leak.

Warnings:

Allow the exhaust system to cool before repairing, as it heats up to a high temperature when the engine is running.

Exhaust gases are poisonous, poisoning by them occurs imperceptibly, so before starting the engine in the garage, be sure to open the gate!
