To remove a spare tire:

1. Loosen nut 1 and remove it.

2. Remove cover 2 of the spare tire.

3. Loosen bolt 3 and remove it.

4. Remove gasket 4 (for vehicles with aluminum rims)

5. Then remove the spare tire from the vehicle.

To store a spare tire, place it in its place with the outside of the wheel facing up. Then secure the tire by reversing the above removal steps. This is to prevent the tire from moving forward in a collision or sudden braking.
