Description of the Renault Sandero body structure

The body of Logan, Sandero, Sandero Stepway cars is load-bearing, all-metal, welded. Body elements are interconnected by resistance welding, and in hard-to-reach places - by electric welding. Panel joints and welds are sealed with mastic.
After welding the panels, the body is subjected to cataphoresis, immersing it in a special bath, to obtain an anti-corrosion coating. An anti-gravel coating is applied to the bottom, sills and wheel arches. The body is then primed and painted. Hidden body cavities are treated with a wax preservative at the factory. From below, several layers of anti-corrosion mastic are applied to the body.
Such anti-corrosion treatment of the body allows the manufacturer to establish a warranty period against the appearance of through corrosion for 6 years.

The body structure complies with European standards for passive safety.
From a frontal impact, the interior is protected by the front power element of the body, located in front of the instrument panel. The main part of the side impact is absorbed by the central pillars of the body. In addition, there are safety bars in the doors.

All glasses are bent, polished, safety type. The windshield is three-layer, the rest are tempered. Rear window (Logan car) and tailgate glass (Sandero, Sandero Stepway cars) - with a heating element. Glass side doors - lowering. Depending on the vehicle equipment, the door windows are driven by mechanical or electric windows.
Front and rear plastic bumpers are installed, and the front bumper is made in one piece with the radiator lining. Fog lights are installed on some cars in the front bumper.
Removable body elements include: doors, trunk lid (Logan car), tailgate (Sandero, Sandero Stepway cars), hood, front fenders, bumpers. The front fenders are bolted to the body.
Externally, the Sandero Stepway car differs from the Sandero by the presence of decorative door sills, longitudinal roof rails, and black plastic body kits over the wheels. Sandero Stepway has protective pads in the front and rear bumpers. 

Strength element of the body - cross beam (dashboard removed) 

Cars are equipped with a central lock that locks or unlocks all doors at the same time. The central lock locks both the trunk lid (Logan car) and the tailgate (Sandero, Sandero Stepway cars).
The salon is equipped with two rows of seats. The front seats are separate, with adjustable movement in the longitudinal direction and inclination of the backs. On some cars, electric heated seats are installed, and the driver's seat is height-adjustable.
Headrests - removable, adjustable in height. On a Logan car, the rear seat is triple, continuous. The rear seat back does not recline. On Sandero and Sandero Stepway cars, the rear seat cushion is continuous, and the backrest consists of two sections 

To increase the luggage compartment on Sandero and Sandero Stepway vehicles, the luggage compartment shelf can be removed and the backrest sections folded individually or together 

The seats of all passengers are equipped with three-point seat belts with inertial coils. The driver's and front passenger's seat belts are height adjustable. Some cars are equipped with inertial seat belts with pretensioners.
The body is equipped with a dashboard, glove box, cigarette lighter, ashtray, sun visors, interior and exterior mirrors, front (removable) and rear towing eyes. Some cars are equipped with electric exterior mirrors and electric heating. The electrically heated mirrors are switched on simultaneously with the electrically heated rear window. All vehicles are fitted with a driver's airbag, and some vehicles also have a front passenger's airbag. The driver's airbag is installed in the steering wheel, and the passenger's airbag is in the instrument panel, on the right side. The salon is equipped with a heating and ventilation system, which serves to create the most comfortable conditions for the driver and passengers, regardless of weather conditions. Expensive versions of cars are equipped with air conditioning.
