Dashboard Opel Astra H

The location of the Opel Astra car controls is shown in fig. 1. For ease of use, the handles, buttons and instrumentation located on the instrument panel and other additional control panels are marked with functional symbols.

The instrument panel contains the following controls and instrumentation:

1 - control unit for outdoor lighting, brightness of instrument cluster illumination, rear fog lamps and headlight electric corrector.

By turning the handle of the outdoor lighting switch, the position, dipped or main beam is turned on.

By pressing the lower left button of the block, the light in the rear fog lamps is turned on. Pressing the button again turns off the fog lights. Fog lights (if installed) are turned on and off in the same way by pressing the upper left button of the block (in the photo, a plug is installed instead of a button).

By pressing the right lower handle of the block, the headlight electrocorrector regulator is unlocked (at the same time, the handle is pulled out of the block).

By turning the knob of the regulator, depending on the load of the car, the angle of inclination of the headlight beam is changed in such a way as to exclude blinding of drivers of oncoming vehicles. Combining the mark on the regulator knob and the numbers on the scale, select the appropriate headlight position adjustment for the following vehicle loading options:

0 - one driver or driver and passenger in the front seat;

1 - all places are occupied;

2 - all seats are occupied and cargo is in the trunk;

3 - one driver and cargo in the trunk.

At the end of the adjustment, block the regulator by sinking its handle into the block.

By pressing the upper right handle of the block, the brightness control of the backlight of the instrument cluster and the information display is unlocked (at the same time, the handle is pulled out of the block).

To increase the brightness of the backlight, turn the knob in the direction of the “+” sign and hold it in this position until the desired brightness is reached (the brightness of the backlight changes automatically). Similarly, reduce the brightness of the backlight by turning the control knob in the direction of the "-" sign. At the end of the adjustment, block the regulator by sinking its handle into the block.

2 and 12 - side nozzles of the ventilation and interior heating system.

By turning the handle A , the intensity of the air flow is changed, and in the extreme lower position of the handle, the air flow is maximum, and in the extreme upper position it is blocked (the symbol “O” is visible on the handle). Handle B regulates the direction of air flow.

3 and 13 - nozzles for blowing glass doors.

4 - switch lever for outdoor lighting and direction indicators. The switch lever can take the following positions:

I - right turn indicators are on (fixed position);

II - left turn indicators are on (fixed position);

When the lever is moved to the “ I ” or “ II ” position in the instrument cluster, the control lamp 10 or 13 lights up with a flashing light (Fig. 2). When the steering wheel is returned to the straight-ahead position, the lever automatically returns to its original position. When changing lanes, to turn on the direction indicator, it is enough to press the lever in the direction of position “ I ” or “ II ” only until a moment of tangible resistance, without fixing the lever, and release. The direction indicators in this case will flash three times.

To switch between high and low beams, move the switch lever to the steering wheel two positions and release.

Note:

When the high beam is turned on, the control lamp 22 lights up in the instrument cluster (Fig. 2).

To signal high beam headlights, move the switch lever one position to the steering wheel (the handle of the switch, external lighting in control unit 1 (see Fig. 1) of external lighting should be in the “Dipped / high beam on” position) and release.

Note:

When the high beam is turned on, the control lamp 22 also lights up in the instrument cluster (see Fig. 2).

By request, the function "lighting the road to the house" can be introduced. If, with the ignition off and the driver's door open, move the switch lever one position to the steering wheel, and then release it, the headlights off delay function is activated - the dipped headlights and the light of the reversing lights will turn on, which will turn off only 30 minutes after the last door is closed . To turn off the headlights, move the switch lever one position toward the steering wheel and release it again.

Note:

If the ignition switch (lock) is in the " O " or " I " position, when the exterior lighting is on, when the driver's door is opened, a buzzer will turn on, reminding you to turn off the lighting.

On request, the parking light function can be introduced. When parking the car, you can turn on the front and rear marker lights on one side of the car, for which, with the ignition off and the handle of the outdoor lighting switch in control unit 1 (see Fig. 1) of the outdoor lighting in the " 0 " position, turn the lever of the outdoor lighting and pointers switch turning in the right direction. At the same time, the buzzer will turn on and at the same time control lamps 10 and 13 will light up (see Fig. 2) in the instrument cluster.

5 - instrument cluster.

6 - steering wheel.

Note:

On request, remote controls for the entertainment system and audio system can be installed in the steering wheel spokes.

7 - switch lever for the wiper and washer of the windshield and tailgate window (on cars with station wagon and hatchback bodies).

Turns on electrical circuits when the ignition is on and can be set to the following positions:

1 - wiper off;

2 - wiper blades will complete one cycle;

3 - intermittent wiper operation is enabled. To adjust the delay time between cycles (if this option is installed), press the lever down from position 1, wait the desired amount of time and set the lever to position 3;

4 - the first (low) wiper speed is on;

5 ^_ the second (high) wiper speed is on.

Note:

Depending on the equipment, the intermittent wiper can be replaced with an automatic wiper. In this case, moving the selector lever to position 3 activates automatic mode.

Moving the lever toward the steering wheel one position will turn on the windshield wipers and washers (if equipped).

Moving the lever away from the steering wheel one position will turn on the tailgate wiper and washer. Holding the lever in this position will turn on the tailgate glass washer for the entire time the lever is held.

Note:

The tailgate window wiper will turn on automatically (depending on equipment) when the reverse gear is engaged, if the wiper lever is in position "2", "3" or "4".

8 - switch for heating the driver's seat.

Depending on the required degree of seat heating, press the switch button one or more times. Each time the button is pressed, the degree of heating increases and another indicator lights up in the button. To turn off the heating, press the button several times until all indicators go out.

Notes:

A similar switch is installed in the lining of the instrument panel on the right, symmetrically to the longitudinal axis of the Opel Astra. It is used to turn on the front passenger seat heating and functions in the same way as the driver's seat heating switch. On request, in common blocks with switches for heating the driver's and front passenger's seats, switches for the tire pressure drop monitoring system, parking sensors, sports mode, and central locking can be installed.

9 - central information display.

The display shows the time, date and outside temperature. Depending on the vehicle configuration, the display is used to receive information from the on-board computer (if installed), for visual control when controlling the audio system and the interior heating (air conditioning) system, as well as the entertainment system (if the listed systems are installed on the car).

10 - alarm switch.

When the switch is pressed, all direction indicators and their corresponding control lamps installed in the instrument cluster light up with a flashing light. Pressing the key again turns off the alarm.

Note:

The alarm system works at any position of a key in the switch (lock) of ignition.

11 - glove box.

Serves for storing small things and opens when you press the lock handle up.

14 and 27 - control panels for power windows and exterior rear-view mirrors. The relevant subsections describe in detail how to control windows and mirrors.

15 - central nozzles of the interior ventilation and heating system.

The algorithm for controlling the flow and intensity of air through the central nozzles is the same as for side nozzles 2 and 12.

16 - audio control panel.

Note:

In addition to the audio system controls, panel 16, depending on the vehicle configuration, can be equipped with controls for the infotainment system and on-board computer.

17 - control unit for the heating (air conditioning) and interior ventilation system.

18 - gearbox control lever.

19 - parking brake lever.

In order to brake the Opel Astra car with a parking brake, lift the lever all the way up - signal lamp 3 will light up in the instrument cluster (see Fig. 2).

To brake the car, pull the lever up a little, press the button at the end of the lever handle.

Lower the lever all the way down, the control lamp should go out.

20 - accelerator pedal.

21 - brake pedal.

22 - clutch pedal.

23 - ignition switch (lock) , combined with an anti-theft device, located on the right side of the steering column.

The key in the lock can occupy one of four positions:

- 0 (blocking) ^_ ignition is off, when the key is removed, the anti-theft device is on;

To ensure that the steering shaft is locked, turn the steering wheel to the right or left until it clicks.

To turn off the anti-theft device, insert the key into the ignition switch and slightly turning the steering wheel to the right and left, turn the key to position "I".

Warning

Do not turn off the ignition or remove the key from the lock while driving - the steering will be blocked and the car will become uncontrollable.

- I (optional equipment) - the ignition is off, the key cannot be removed, the steering is unlocked. The power supply circuits for the sound signal, outdoor lighting, high-beam headlights, radio equipment, cigarette lighter, etc. are turned on;

- II (on) - the ignition is on, the key cannot be removed, the steering is unlocked. Ignition, instruments and all electrical circuits are on;

- III (starter) - the ignition and starter are on, the key cannot be removed, the steering is unlocked. This position of the key is not fixed; when released, the key returns to position "II" under the action of the force of the spring.
