Where is the crankshaft sensor on the Ford Focus 2
The engine crankshaft position sensor on the 1.4 and 1.6L R4 Duratec 16V and 1.6L R4 16V Duratec Ti-VCT engines is installed at the rear of the engine block opposite the flywheel.
On 1.8 and 2.0 L R4 Duratec-HE 16V engines, it is located in front of the engine next to the crankshaft pulley.
Replacing and checking the crankshaft position sensor Ford Focus 2
1. Disconnect a wire from the minus plug of the storage battery.
2. Compress a clamp and disconnect a block of a plait of wires of the gauge of position of a cranked shaft.
3. On engines 1.4 and 1.6 l R4 Duratec 16V, as well as 1.6 l R4 16V Duratec Ti-VCT, unscrew the mounting bolt and remove the crankshaft position sensor.
On engines 1.8 and 2.0 l R4 Duratec-HE 16V, unscrew the two bolts securing the crankshaft position sensor and remove the sensor.
4. Using a tester, measure the resistance between the sensor leads. The nominal resistance value must be within 0.5 _ 0.6 kOhm. If the resistance is not within the specified limits, replace the sensor.
5. Install the crankshaft position sensor on the Ford Focus 2 in the reverse order of removal.
