Rice. 1.183. Power steering reservoir

The fluid level in the power steering fluid reservoir must be checked daily. During this test, the ignition key is set to the "OFF" position. The fluid level in the power steering fluid reservoir must be between the marks on the reservoir "MAX" ("Maximum") and "MIN" ("Minimum").

NOTE

Immediately after starting the engine at very low temperatures (below -20 ° C), a crunch can sometimes be heard coming from the power steering pump. If the crunch disappears as the engine warms up, then the amplifier is working properly. This is due to the peculiarity of the properties of the liquid at very low temperatures.

NOTE

Do not start the engine if the power steering reservoir is empty.

Power steering hydraulic hoses

It is recommended to check the power steering hydraulic hose connections at the intervals specified in the service book. If cracking, stretching or wear spots are found, the power steering hydraulic hoses must be replaced. Poor technical condition of the hoses can lead to premature failure of the hydraulic booster.
