Note:
The level of the working fluid in the automatic transmission is monitored when the engine is warmed up to normal operating temperature.
What fluid to fill in an automatic transmission Honda Civic
It is recommended to use only Honda automatic transmission fluid ATF-Z1.
To temporarily replace the specified working fluid, you can use the DEXRON III brand fluid that matches its properties. But at the first opportunity, contact a service center to flush the transmission and fill it with the recommended Honda ATF-Z1 fluid.
Checking the level and topping up the fluid in the automatic transmission Honda Civic
1. Park the vehicle on level ground. Start the motor and let it run until the fan turns on. Stop it and wait 1-2 minutes.
2. Raise the hood cover and fix it with the stop. The pointer (with a yellow ring handle) of the Honda Civic automatic transmission fluid level is located in the front of the engine compartment on the left.
3. Pull out the fluid level indicator.
4. Wipe it dry with a clean cloth.
5. Insert the pointer back into the tube and lower it until it stops.
6. Re-pull out the pointer, and check the fluid level on the Honda Civic. It should be between the top and bottom marks.
7. If the fluid level is below the minimum mark, insert a funnel into the dipstick tube.
8. Add working fluid to the Honda Civic automatic transmission crankcase.
9. Recheck the automatic transmission fluid level on the Honda Civic using the dipstick. If the level is correct, reinstall the dipstick.
