Note:

Periodically (but at least once every 15,000 km) check the oil level in the transfer case, and change the oil every 60,000 km or 4 years (whichever comes first). However, sometimes the need to change the oil may arise earlier: for example, when repairing a transfer case, etc.

Useful advice:

It is recommended to drain the oil within 15 minutes after the trip, until it has cooled down and has good fluidity.

1. Place the vehicle on a lift or pit.

2. Remove the engine crankcase protection.

3. Through the hole in the bracket of the intermediate support of the drive of the right front wheel, unscrew the plug of the control (filler) hole.

4. Remove the plug.

The control hole plug is sealed with an aluminum washer. Be sure to replace it.

5. Check the oil level in the transfer case. The oil level should be at the edge of the hole or slightly lower, as shown in the figure.

6. If the oil level is very low (cannot be controlled), fill the oil with a syringe into the hole up to the lower edge of the control hole. Wrap the plug of the control hole and remove the oil leaks.

7. To change the oil in the transfer case, unscrew the plug of the control (filler) hole.

8. Loosen the drain plug.

9. Remove the plug and drain the oil into a prepared container.

10. The drain plug is sealed with an aluminum washer. If the washer is severely crimped, be sure to replace it.

11. Remove metal shavings (if any) from the plug magnet with a rag, screw the plug into the drain hole and tighten to 35 N•m.

12. Pour oil into the transfer case along the edge of the filler hole.

13. Screw the plug into the control hole and tighten to 35 N•m.
