Checking the oil level

1. The fluid level in the automatic transmission is measured with the engine and transmission warmed up. To warm up the power unit to the required temperature, you can make a short (15 kilometers) trip.

2. Place the vehicle on a level surface, apply the handbrake securely. Place jack stands under the wheels to secure the vehicle.

3. Start the engine and let it idle. Depress the brake pedal and carefully move the selector from position P to position 1, then back to P.

4. The dipstick for measuring the fluid level is located at the rear of the gearbox. Before removing the dipstick, thoroughly wipe the area around it. The ingress of dirt into the box is unacceptable.

5. Remove the dipstick and use a rag to remove all traces of fluid from it. Replace the dipstick and remove it again. The fluid level must be between the marks on the dipstick.

Note:

If you measure the level with a cold power unit, the result will be lower than the real one. Be sure to check the level on a warm engine, as exceeding the maximum allowable fluid level can lead to box failure.

6. Adding liquid is carried out through the well of the measuring probe. Do not allow dirt to enter the inside of the box. Add only fresh liquid and only through a funnel (preferably with a filter).

7. Add liquid in small portions, constantly checking the level.

8. After you have restored the fluid level in the box, return the dipstick to its place and turn off the engine.

9. If you have to add fluid to the box frequently, it means that there is a leak somewhere. Eliminate it immediately.
